CONFERENCE INFO AND HIGHLIGHTS
Over the past 9 years, the Enforcing Underage Drinking
Laws program has successfully built partnerships with law
enforcement, community organizations, and government officials
to implement evidence-based strategies to reduce youth access
to alcohol. To establish and maintain a grasp on the problems
and consequences of underage drinking, a blueprint must
be developed to integrate three key elements: environmental
strategies and laws, enforcement, and public support.
The Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center’s
9th Annual National Leadership Conference will highlight
communities, programs, and other iniatives that have successfully
implemented science, performance, and data-driven strategies
to support the reduction of youth access to alcohol. This
conference acts as an “incubator of new ideas”–
it’s the place where colleagues converge to be inspired
by creative and unique ways of thinking.
Here are reasons why the National Leadership
Conference is the place to be in 2007 for the most up-to-date
research-based information on underage drinking prevention
and enforcement:
Excellent Content:
Virtually every topic related to effective
prevention and enforcement of underage drinking will be
covered with tracks to meet the needs of those who are new
and those who are advanced in the field.
Practical Information:
Plenary sessions, workshops, and experiential
learning exercises provide participants with real-life information,
skills and tools that can be used to enhance local efforts.
Networking Opportunities:
Just being present at the conference is sometimes
enough, but opportunities for extensive peer-to-peer interaction
will provide attendees with new ideas and solutions.
Energy and Innovation:
The conference promises to leave its attendees
with a heightened sense of passion infused with new energy
to impact their communities in the best possible ways.
